The wait is over... He walked away Best Male Artist and kept the anticipation rolling through another Quarter. New Ish Friday after New Ish Friday, we waited for the Law & Order album of Mr. I Stay On The Grind and let me just say, the team better be glad this is a #CLASSIC lol.
Track by track I honestly loved it all.
Favorites were Track 3, "Worried Bout" because I leaked it and the response was great, track 4, "Radio Killa", which is the single featuring Derty Den and that song is getting mad radio play. Track 9, "Love Me" feat Ashley Mar Shell was another favorite. I can go on, I mean there was some great production put into this so you know its got to be something worth your computer memory space. From Manifest to Gav Beats to Kream Kash, the production really put in work.
If I had to rate this out of five stars, I'm giving it 4... maybe 4.5. This project really took Marc Law out of the local category so please don't be offended if I'm around you and you mention his name in a conversation about local artists & i cut you off with an attitude. Reasons I don't give it a full 5: b/c I think he gave too much music and too many features for an album release. Plus "I Stay On the Grind shouldve been a bonus track lol. Look, its my opinion! Point blank, this was a great project. I'm the Sarcastic Renegade for a reason.

I came across Dominant online this year and finally we linked up and did some business. Like many artist consultants that run into new artists, I paid very close attention to his movement online, his write-ups & most importantly, his name, aka "the brand". I told myself, "Dominant? Oh I know this dude better be hot." Honestly, I really said that.
Being the asshole I am, naturally always finding what I don't like the most, there was not nay one song on his reverb page that didnt catch my attention. (Yes, I meant to type "not nay one" Lol). One or two weren't #RewindValue but the percentage of my head bop counts was at an alarming high rate.

Q. As the new year approaches, what do u have in store for your fans?
A. Really, introducing them to Dominant... "THE BRAND". More
music, blogs, videos, shows, you name it. Everytime you log onto your
computer and visit a blog site, I want them to see my brand in some
form and once I feel like I have the attention I'm looking for, then "CheckHowIDoIt" The mixtape will be released.
Q. Your music carries a lot of versatility, is this purposely or do
u naturally make your music to accommodate a variety of people?
A. I've always been a pretty versatile artist. I dont make my music
for a particular crowd, so I tend to switch it up so that EVERYONE can
have something to vibe to.
I cant sing at all! lol But I love making records with a R&B melody somewhere in it. I just like switching it up.
3. What makes you so different from any other artist in your genre in the Carolina Market?
A. Whats makes me unique... is my high pitched voice, my wittyness, and my
concepts. I make the music many of rappers wanna try, but are afraid of
killing there "tough" image so they play the safe road. There is no safe road with me.
Q. Your wins at the SCUMA, expected or surprising?
A. A lil of both honestly. I won "Mixtape of The Year" for "On My
Way To Stardom" hosted by DJ Dynamite and "Best Collaboration" with
Apollo for "Hate For Free"
The mixtape award took me by surprise because the nominess all had
great product. I can honestly say my fans came threw with the votes, and I walked away with the victory.
Q. Tell us some of the indie artists you have already collaborated with & some indies you plan on collaborating with...
A. Ummm, only indie artist ive worked with so far is my homie Apollo. S/O to him and the "Money Man" campaign he got going.
Artist I would love to work with though are Bettie Grind, Shelly
B., Mantiz, Lil Brod, and the homie Don Dada out of the Metro. I admire
each of there work ethic, and they make hits! That's all im aiming for... Hit records
Q. What are your views on the music industry in the Carolina's?
A.
I feel we need more unity and cut out some of the favoritism some
markets have going on. I feel more DJ's should be record breakers
instead of baseing your playlist off of what the next DJ is playing. But the problem isnt all on the the dj's... ARTIST JUST NEED TO STEP IT
UP... PERIOD. You cant go up to a DJ at 12a.m.
in the club, during the middle of his set with your music on a blank
cd you bought from Walmart with a Sharpie written on it, and expect him
to take you serious. At the end of the day, this is a business, and
more artist need to understand that part in full.

McNabb. He's being passed around like Henny. The reason I lost love for the
Philadephia Eagles. I don't know if you remember how he played prior to Michael Vick, but I sure as hell do. I cant forget because I was constantly screaming at the television.
Here's the deal. Mcnabb's getting a little sensitive and I think this sensitivity is effecting THE GAME. Note, I didnt say him, or the team, THE GAME. It cant get any worse than the whole Brett Farve bad relationship fiasco, but its just as bad. #MyOpinion.
Here we have a 35 year old man about to be on a whole new team for the 3rd time. From my understanding, players play well when they have good connections with their other team mates. He's obviously still good if they're letting him go and I guess you can say he loves the game if he takes this pay cut to be moved to the Vikings... You know whats gonna happen next. The Farve curse lol. This wont be the last time he'll be in headlines about a team switch or similar. He'll probably retire trying to send "threats" for a pay raise. What amazes me is why he thinks constantly switching teams will make him a better player.

Now there hasnt been a confirmed deal made yet between the Redskins and the Vikings but it is said to be in a negotiation process. McNabb would have to agree to restructure the five-year, $78 million deal he signed with the Redskins, however, because the Vikings don't have enough cap room to fit him in with the way the new deal is currently structured. Vikings didnt have much luck with Farve's veteran skills but maybe they will with McNabb.

Allow me to introduce you to James Otis, one of the leaders of extremists, lawyer in colonial Massachusetts, and an early advocate of the political views that led to the infamous Revolution. Do you remember reading about the "Writs of Assistance"? They were never expiring documents that served like search warrants issued by British Americans in the 1760's that sparked major controversy in Massachusetts. James Otis had made alliances with Boston merchants, and in turn he instantly became a patriot star after the controversy. Now that's a major chess move. Don't you just love #POLITICS The British hated Otis' power so much that in 1769 he received a gash on the head by a British tax collector named John Robinson at a British Coffee House. July 2, 2011 she released "#NoDaysOff" hosted by DJ White Owl and within 24 hours got a 3k count. She has this song called "OMG" on the tape that I'm crazy about and its gonna be playing in my car. Yung LA is remembered for his verse on the radio and club single "Aint I". It peaked at the number 47 spot on Billboard magazine’s Hot 100 chart and remained on the charts for 16 weeks. Many of you might even remember his infamous split from Grand Hustle earlier this year through a viral video where he obtained a pink duck tatted on his face and multiple tear drop tattoos.
His moves, his career, and his face. Cant argue with that. Now, he has his own, Crush The Block, and will be releasing a alleged 10 track mixtape entitled "Tattoos and Jewelry".
Out of all the Grand Hustle team, his main beef is with T.I for some reasons we will never know in full. I think it was the lack of support for a project after his bust into the scene from the single "Aint I". It appears that there was no other bad blood from any other label mates, but like always, there is always that one person that has something extra to say about a situation. 14 years ago today, Dr. Betty Shabazz (also known as Dr. Betty X), the wife of Malcolm X, died three weeks after results from injuries rescuing her grandson (also named Malcolm).
I remember it like yesterday. In 1997 I was in 5th grade and that was one of my years I had a phase for the love of the Muslim nation. My best friend was Chris Smith and I used to study with him and his family. I read the "Final Call" papers like it was a regular newspaper and I had contacted the Malcolm X college in Chicago and constantly wrote them because I "knew" that's the school I wanted to go to after High School. I wasn't even in Middle School yet. #TrueStory
Apparently the story was that her daughter, Qubilah" was arrested for conspiring to assassinate Louis Farrakhan. Betty took in her grandson Malcolm and he somehow set the house on fire. Betty went in the buring house to save him and was badly injured. Endign with her death June 23, 1997.
Hey my little cousin's school, Brooklyn Brownstone School, in Bed-Stuy is raising money to build a garden there and I want my readers to show some support if they can and donate. Today (6.23) Buju Banton was sentenced to 10 years in Federal Prison for conspiracy charges. Many people close to me tweeted me or posted on my wall the news links and I even got texts about it. My love for music grew on Reggae. I have this infamous picture of my baby brother and I in Italy where Im listening to a cassette player and it was a Bob Marley tape. From the day i could pick things up I always picked up my fathers cassette player or his tapes. My father got me attached to reggae, my mother allowed it to play around me and reggae was the 1st genre of music i feel in love with.
One of the most played reggae artists was Buju Banton. His voice, the lyrics, I grew to understand what he was saying. While my friends, from back then and even now, would pick on how it sounded like he wasn't saying any words, I actually heard each and every word. I understood the dialect in a matter of time.
