This year, the Media & Entertainment Convention Music Suites are bigger and better! There will be three divisions: gospel, R&B and hip-hop. Space is limited. Individuals or groups of 4 or less will be able to participate. There will be one winner chosen from each division. The prizes are as follows:

The Gospel Music Suite- One winner will be chosen to have a song written by award winning gospel artist James Fortune, receive studio time from Cellamix Productions to record one single, be featured on the Top Selling: Kerry Douglas presents Gospel Mix Vol. 5 2011 CD, will be highlighted in the local artist spotlight section on www.thelightnc.com and receive an on-air interview on The Light 103.9.

THE SOURCE.com Hip-Hop Music Suite- One winner will receive an editorial review on www.thesource.com, receive studio time from Cellamix Productions to record one single, an on-air interview on K97.5 , perform at the 2011 Women’s Empowerment Expo and be highlighted in the local artist spotlight on www.hiphopnc.com!

The R&B Music Suite- One winner will receive an editorial review on www.theurbandaily.com, receive studio time from Cellamix Productions to record one single, an on-air interview on Foxy 107/104, be highlighted in the local artist spotlight on www.foxync.com and perform at the 2011 Radio One Raleigh Women’s Empowerment Expo.

**Please note that the price of the Music Suite Does not include a ticket to seminars. You will have to make a separate purchase to attend the seminars, keynote speech and networking sessions and other M.E.C. Features. In addition, all participants my perform the “genre” of music that match the Music Suite that you register for (Ex; all R&B artists must perform in the R&B Music Suite, you will be atomically disqualified, if you do not meet all criteria).

Music Suite Competition Specifics:

•Individuals of or groups of no more than 4 may participate
•You will have 10 minutes (5 minutes to perform and 5 minutes of critiquing).
•You must perform to a track or acapella.
•A representative from Radio One will contact you 2 weeks before the event with your scheduled time to perform.
•In addition to your Music Suite reservation, each individual MUST have a ticket to enter the convention.
•No refunds will be given after November 19th.
Spaces for the Music Suites will be on sale Monday, October 18, 2010 at 6:00 pm

The Metropolitan Muse exhibition: featuring all forms of digital art -- computer based illustration, digital video art, montages and collages, mixed media with digital elements, computer animation, interactive installations & etc. The Metropolitan Muse will be exhibited during the Radio One Music & Entertainment Convention at Raleigh Convention Center. The unique appeal of the Metropolitan Muse exhibit is the combining of fine art images in the gallery along with video art. Projection screen displays in the gallery will be continuously exhibiting the video art pieces.
