NEW YEARS RESOLUTION: THE #WINDOWSEAT IS WHERE I WILL CONTINUE TO SIT!!! @BigVSkyzone

There are many changes awaiting us as 2013 changes into 2014...

Yet there are valuables from 2013 worth taking into the New Year. As 2014 is ushered in, remember to maintain the standards of work ethic, dedication and ambition that brought success to your life. May that hip-hop swagger that got you here keep you here. If the inspiration to create a recipe for success escaped you in 2013, allow me to introduce you to one of the ingredients I stirred into my pot of gold in 2013. Check out the first class ticket to my window seat in 2013!

Get your copy of Window Seat here

Surrounded by constant commercial marketing schemes and endless attempts to turn my rent money into paper I spent on bullshit, I found a cool soulful breeze that kept me focused on important things. As mixtapes come and go, this one was different. Its not everyday that the songs you listen to on a day-to-day basis are songs that fit puzzle-perfect into the mood you need to keep grinding. Most rappers are caught up in lifestyles of the rich and famous and the imaginary dope kingpin tales that spin on radio and internet radio daily. Big V offered me a different rhythm to swagger my shoulders to in 2013. The #WindowSeat creator's lyrics are grounded in blue collar work ethic and poor man dreams driven my rich man ambition. Gems like D.W.I (Drive Wit Inspiration) and Sunlight inspire everyday people to wake up and hustle. Even while touching the general public's fascination with "coming up" and "living the life" type imagery, he takes the time to craft Window Seat into a personal testament of his life on songs like "1155 AM In Winston" and "Bubble Caprice" which make him seem like the person you see in the mirror.

Its rare you find artists that touch personal chords of our spirit. Even rarer, Window Seat is able to maintain to smooth, well produced continuity that allow the listener to ignore the fast-forward button. Whether you are a clear-headed hustler with a mapped out business plan or a cloud-floating 9 to 5 grinder about to roll up a jump rope away from stress, Window Seat was the soundtrack to success and happiness in 2013. SO, THIS NEW YEARS CHAMPAGNE GLASS (or Bud Light bottle) IS FOR THE WINDOW SEATS WE SAT IN IN 2013 AND ALL THE OTHER FIRST CLASS FLIGHT PLANS WE ARE MAKING FOR 2014 #SALUTE #BIGVSHIT #SKYZONESOCIETY

[OH SNAP!]: @KeyshiaCole Rants on Twitter again... This time its at Bey

Keyshia Cole got some animosity towards Destiny’s children.First we got a  kick out of her messin with Michelle & her Super Bowl performance, now after listening to Beyonce’s new single "Bow Down", she, once again, fired up her Twitter account with her critique:
Can’t stand when people all self righteous when it’s convenient it makes them look good. Lmao! But can still talk shit when convenient 2 FOH

First “Women need to Stick together” now bitches better Bow. Smh. But it’s all G! Chicks stay shooting the shit. But when I speak my mind its a prob. #Well #StayMad”

Came across this track while in a cyber interview about a controversial showcase. As the tension rose, i still asked questions and in the midst of it all this artist posted his plug. Now usually i despise plugs in the middle of FB posts, especially when I'm tryna do my sarcastic renegade thing, but the song fit the situation so here is a post dedicated to him droppin the background music. LOL Doing an article about this situation too next week because its almost that time of yr where showcases start to pop up everywhere and the controversy that comes with it from artists and their discrepancies.

[V-DAY PREMIERE]: @MARC LAW F/ @ASHLEYMARSHELL x "LOVE ME" F/ CAMEO FRM @NIKKI2HOT4RADIO (MUSIC VIDEO/SHORT FILM)

If you got some time, set aside a good 10 minutes because this short film is worth it. For me, because I know these people it was fun watching them act. Favorite part: "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?! Eddie Kane!"

The run down is a good storyline of your average underground artist facing the struggles of being under a label trying to make it. He's given an ultimatum to bring the magic or kick rocks. Picking a part time may not be what many of you artists wouldve chose to do but umm... to get that magic, you gotta get in the studio, get some production and promotion done and prove yourself. It's all about proving yourself. If you really want it... you will pick up a last minute cookin position, put on a dirty apron, and without even fillin out an application, follow the pretty lady to train. #POW #sacrifice

'90s Rap Artist Father MC faces Scam Charges. Why you should DO YOUR RESEARCH on alleged "A&R Reps"

Best known for his hit “I’ll Do 4 U” from his debut album “Father’s Day” in 1990, rapper Timothy Brown, better known as Father MC, is facing allegations that he brings new, up and coming artists into the studio for $700 per session, and gives them tracks he’s already shared with others.

Killer Rabbit Studios in Studio City, CA is the location where the rapper is accused of promising to shop songs for record deals, but fails to follow up.

Father MC’s biggest hit features a backing track sampled from “Got To Be Real” by Cheryl Lynn. He recently re-emerged in 2007 under a new stage name: “Fambody”.

No stranger to controversy, Father MC was arrested in New York in 1997 for failure to pay child support, and also appeared nude in the August 1996 issue of Playgirl magazine.

BIOGRAPHY

Hailing from Enfield, North Carolina, Keyuntae “Killa Key” Ward has been working diligently within the music scene. At a young age he expressed his passion for music. His journey with music was underway at the age of twelve as he fell in love with Hip Hop and started rapping on his on. At the start of his music career he demonstrated the charisma, confidence, and swagger in which it takes to build a great artist. Inspired by artists such as “Tupac” & “Lil Wayne” he studied their craft and how they told stories of where they had come from and began giving the stories of his hood and environment through his own eyes. Later, in his quest for musical greatness he joined a local group which has become widely popular in this day and time known as “Drama Squad” (Da Realest And Most Anticipated). Each of the members grew up with one another since elementary school. They have all experienced some of the same struggles and hardships just as much as excitements and joys. They have won numerous awards and recognition throughout the years and are continuing to rise in the ranks. As an Alumnus of NC State University, Keyuntae also known as “Tha Lyricist” has the ability to express both sides of the world in his music. With his crafty flow he gives the audience a true depiction of real life situations in which he has experienced or witnessed. Also he can give knowledge on life in which his college education and experiences helped him to see. He is a true example of achieving success no matter what background you may be accustomed with. In 2009 Keyuntae won the Literary Award at the annual Sankofa Award Ceremony and is currently getting prepared to release his first solo album entitled, “The Starting Point.” In the end, Killa Key would like to be remembered as one of the greats and is on the right path so far as he extends his current ten year journey.
