SHELLY B x The 2011 Stop Frontin Cronicles (Entry 1)

SHELLY B IS NOW BLOGGING STRAIGHT OFF HER WEBSITE (WHERE YOU CAN ALSO COP THE FREE DOWNLOAD FOR THE "QUEEN" MIXTAPE)!!!

" RELATIONSHIPS! ...AND THE INDUSTRY "

If it's not the very first it's definitely one of the main questions as a Artist I seem to get pounded with in professional interviews - the all too famous “Are You Single?” The interviewer then proceeds in assurance that this is what the people are dying to know. Now, I’ve always wondered to myself what my relationship has to do with my line of work. I mean this is a professional interview. If I was on a regular J.O.B. my boss wouldn't be that concerned who I was with, but more concerned with the job I'm supposed to be doing. And yeah Interviewer why is it so important? Well hate it or love it, this has been a focal point for most career entertainment professionals and will be for years to come. So with that said I present to you my 1st entry of “The Stop Frontin Chronicles: 2011 Edition. Oh yeah I'm going Hollywood with this one!...

DEJA VU? R.I.P TEENA MARIA & MUSIC DOWNLOADS

UPDATE: The rumors went from saying she died in her sleep to others are saying she was "found dead". Now more sources are telling me she had a heart attack this morning.

So far only respected confirmation is from HUFFINGTON POST and CNN BLOG.

"According to Roland Martin, RandB singer Teena Marie has passed away at the age of 54. Martin cites Marie's manager, Mike Gardner."

They're still claiming it was from a heart attack and that her body was found by her daughter, who just had a birthday yesterday.

NETWORK VS. NUMBERS

We’ve all heard the quote “your network is your net worth” and “it’s not who you know, but who knows you”. So where does this all tie into the “numbers don’t lie” and “it’s in the numbers” hype?

This Industry was built and founded on a network and the team work within its circle. That was then. This is now. The Industrial Age of business was deeply rooted in those beliefs and was the key to many successfully opened doors. Now, we’re in the Information Age. Everything is about statistics and it’s very technical. You’re now no longer judged or looked on for who you know or what you know; from your experience record to the amount you’re worth, it’s all being looked at and they’re the numbers behind your name or brand.

There are those that are adapting and growing and those that are decaying and dying. It may sound a bit harsh but it’s the truth. Those that are adapting and growing are those willing to get out there to network and invest. They know some of everybody and everybody knows a little something about them. Those in decay are those stuck in old ways, waiting around for the business to come to them. They refuse to adjust with the ever-changing market and rely simply on what they’re comfortable with. Now, let’s attach how numbers can affect those that adapt and those that decay. Those that adapt have higher chances at increasing their numbers and those that decay are at a leveled amount and risk a fast decrease in their numbers at the slightest dissatisfaction (customers or fan base).

The numbers are your financial gain, your fan base, your financial worth of the product or person represented. The numbers are any and every way your brand or name can absorb statistics. If you can’t make numbers you’re not progressing, right? It would mean something is wrong with your marketing strategy. Or better yet, maybe your network isn’t worth much.

You might be a hard worker but if you are not good at networking and making a few good friends outside your comfort zone, you will not be successful unless you have invented something extraordinary. An artist can sell 1000 mixtapes out his trunk and be able to buy the bar out, but does his financial situation means he’s the best artist? Just because he actually sold more mixtapes than the other artist with an actual album, that’s possibly supported and sponsored (his network), does that mean he’s the better artist? How do you decide which artist or DJ or Promoter is the “best”? Especially when in this new Information Age, we now not only base our decisions on the Network but also the Numbers.

That’s when the problem starts. Your Network and your Numbers are two key components to successfully progressing your brand. If you have leveled them both out, you’re doing a great job, but the problem comes with which one can you do without? Which one will allow you to progress faster? Some would say numbers would, but which one would allow you to last longer? Even more would say your network. I’ll let you figure that one out on your own. Good luck!

"12 DAYS OF AN ENTREPRENUER"

Twelve differences between those who dream and those who act:

1- Wanna-be's obsess about ideas.
Entrepreneurs obsess about
implementation.

2- Wanna-be's want more web traffic.
Entrepreneurs focus on sales
conversion.

3- Wanna-be's focus on positive thinking.
Entrepreneurs plan for
multiple contingencies.

4- Wanna-be's want to get on TV and get famous.
Entrepreneurs
 build their list.

5- Wanna-be's seek a perfect plan.
Entrepreneurs execute and adjust
the plan later.

6- Wanna-be's wait for their lucky break.
Entrepreneurs engineer
four, five, six plans and execute them in tandem, wagering that at
least one plan will get traction.

7- Wanna-be's fear looking stupid in front of their friends.
Entrepreneurs willingly risk making fools of themselves

.

8- Wanna-be's shield their precious ideas from harsh reality,
postponing the verdict of success or failure until 'someday'.

Entrepreneurs expose their ideas to cold reality as soon as
 reasonably possible.

9- Wanna-be's put off practicing basketball until they've got Air
Jordans. Entrepreneurs practice barefoot behind the garage.

10- Wanna-be's believe what they're told, believe their own
assumptions. Entrepreneurs do original research and determine what paths have
been already tried.

11- Wanna-be's believe they can do anything.
Entrepreneurs do what
they're gifted for and delegate the rest.

12- Wanna-be's think about the world in terms of COULD and SHOULD.
Entrepreneurs think in terms of IS and CAN BE.

So, what are you?

LIQUOR STORE BLUES x BRUNO MARS x DAMIEN MARLEY

The soulful sound of Bruno Mars and the extra soothing sound of Damien Marley... #PERFECT

JACK, JOHN, GIN & JOSE... MY SECRET LOVERS

10 Reasons The Holidays are Overrated

Hate to ruin your Holiday Spirit with my Top 10 list but the Holidays are really overrated. This is how my mind wonders:

10. Retailers spend like thousands on advertisement so that your already broke ass can become even more broke buying an abundance of Snuggies and Bath Sets. They, in return, profit like triple what they spent on the promo.

9. Thousands of puppies and kittens are brought for gifts then when Spring hit they all end up homeless roaming the street because either a couple broke up or they couldn't afford pet food.

8. We all gain another 10 lbs after only a month since Thanksgiving. Muthafuckas are cooking AGAIN just because they shitted out Thanksgiving food when it reality, it doesn't matter because the fat is already built up in your stomach lining.

7. This is the only time of the season guys actually act like men and show their emotions to a female because the cold brings out the bitch in them. They show their emotions also because they wont have to spend as much money on a gift because the girl is already satisfied with just getting time with him. Then Spring hits and guys hormones go insane.

6. Females go crazy buying boots. Some females end up only buying one pair and rock them shit hard body the whole damn 3 months. Bitch buy some more and stop spending you last on weave! Learn to manage your money between weave and boots.

5. Dry Skin. The Holidays bring fuckin dry skin and muthafuckas like me with excema have to drench ourselves in lotion with Oatmeal and shit just so we can survive.

4. Ex's pop up out the blue. #FACT

3. Everybody in the Entertainment Industry gets cranky because the whole year prior they didn't keep in touch with friends or family so they end up alone during the Holidays. *Toast to the workaholics* Ill be home for the Holidays playing online Poker drinking VSOP, inbox me if you wanna play.

2. Bad ass kids get gifts but not taught that Christmas was about the birth of Jesus. Once they get out of school, parents don't remind them what Christmas is. They end up thinking its only about gifts and then when they get older the parents wonder why they kids STILL bad. TEACH YOUR KIDS AT HOME- THEY DONT HAVE TO LEARN JUST AT SCHOOL #imjussayin

1. Everybody expects you to give them something. I got something for you- a damn TIP, "Its a recession bitch, u can pay 20% of my Utility Bill if you wanna give me something!"

STALL & DEAN x DERTY DEN | PHOTOSHOOT PART I

We all have a Stall and Dean story. Oh, you don't? Well, that's sad, you should. If you claim anything about style or "swag" you would know Stall and Dean is the foundation of many fashion trends. Lets go back to 2001-2003. I brought my first Stall and Dean for my brother. I always made sure my brother was fly. See, it was just 2 of us and we were still fresh in North Carolina so we had a reputation to up-keep since we were the "new kids". We represented each other and I was not gonna let him look bad in Middle School while I claimed my "cool as hell" title in high School.

One word: Throwback. While others worried about getting all the Jordan, Barkley, Bird or Ewing throwbacks, I brought him Dominique Wilkins and the Lebron High School Jersey. They got the NBA or New Era brands, I got him the Stall and Dean exclusives. See what they failed to realize was that it wasn't how many you had, it was how exclusive and rare the jersey on your back or the fitted on your head.

Another thing I love most about Stall and Dean is how damn sexy it can make a guy by just putting on a letterman jacket. Most women say "take it off", I say "Put on a letterman!" lol. My first Stall and Dean letterman was brought once upon a time when I went with this guy and he spoiled me rotten. So for his birthday I dropped a few big bucks on a Brown Bears Jacket and matching fitted. I aint never let him take his coat off... Ok, im lying, I did allow him to take it off but my point is if you respect original, classic and different, you gotta respect the Stall and Dean. Their brand really makes you stand out.

Founded in 1898, the Stall and Dean Company is one of the oldest sporting goods manufacturers in America. Their first catalog offered baseball and basketball uniforms, footballs, and football helmets. Soon they expanded into producing athletic shoes, baseball gear, boxing gloves, tennis and volleyball gear and protective equipment.

Here's a history lesson: They were the first American company to manufacture hockey jerseys and equipment, outfitting the original six member teams of the National Hockey League. Many Hall of Fame athletes from many sports wore Stall and Dean uniforms, including Jim Thorpe, Babe Ruth, Bobby Orr and Ted Williams, Satchel Paige, Roberto Clemente, Lou Gehrig, to name a small few. They manufactured uniforms and equipment for high schools and colleges as well as for the professional athletes.

Now remember early how I said 2001-2003? Their press release states,
"Since 2000, Stall and Dean has been favored as a popular and trendy brand... Its an athletic brand, favored by the Urban community."
Thats a #CoSign! Lol.

Stall and Dean was one of the first brands to wardrobe 50 Cents and the Diplomats, as well as dressing countless celebrities from Jay Z, Kanye West, TI, Chamillionaire, DJ Drama, Ludacris, Styles P, Eminem, Tony Parker, Lil John, Diddy, Shaquille Oneal, Lebron James, Lil Scrappy, Vince Carter, Carmelo Anthony, Derty Den, Young Jezzy and countless other in entertainment.

Did you notice a Carolina favorite in the mix? Boss Gates, Derty Den out of Eastern North Carolina has been sponsored and supported by Stall and Dean for a couple of years.

"It was important to work with an artist on the rise such as Derty Den when we agreed to a sponsorship. Carolina has always been rich with talent and an artist such as Derty Den understood his market and understand the importance of name recognition." -Rikers, Marketing Director of Stall and Dean

What better time, than now, then to do a photo shoot for the brand? If you haven't noticed, Stall and Dean has been dressing Dert for many of his major event appearances and video shoots. Recently he did a Photoshoot with newcomer, Carolina Photographer, "PhotoDrew" of Perfection Photography.

Behind the scenes video:

The pictures are available on his website www.dertyden.com and all other media outlets he is currently featured on.

SNEAK PEAK PICS

Each outfit showcases the variety and great vintage style of Stall and Dean. If you are interested in purchasing anything, you need to hurry and get to the Stall and Dean website fast. They're currently running a "BUY ONE JACKET GET A HAT FREE". Ladies, I promise, once you see your man in a Stall and Dean jacket you'll appreciate reading this article. They go great with Timb's or Nike ACGs. Its like a winter man makeover. Few more days til Christmas and there are plenty of Urban stores around the E-NC that carry the brand. I suggest getting any neutral color Ivy League brand.

Stall and Dean is in its 112th year and continues on as one of the oldest and highly respected clothing brands in the entire industry.

Build Ya Build Campaign Article

{DEFINITION} Brand: the identity of a specific product, service, or business. A brand can take many forms, including a name, sign, symbol, color combination or slogan.

10 years ago the market was entirely different from today. Personally, the ways I consulted with artists was hands on. There was no Facebook, there was no Twitter, just email and Soundclick. I would spend hours, sometimes days in studios with artists while using a pen and pad to organize and construct plans for mixtapes and my phone was an old Motorola used only for calling after 9pm. May I remind you I was a Sophomore in High School as well. I know. I was the shit. One thing that hasn’t changed is the way we see a BRAND and the ways they are built and used for consumer and value increase.

I decided to get a viewpoint or two from Hip Hop Journalist and my mentor, Sha’Linda Jeanine of K97.5 (Raleigh). She’s a part of the Radio One staff, a Journalist for HipHopDX, AllHipHop, Yo! Raps, & Hip Hop Weekly Magazine, just to name a few. I asked for her input. My first question, “What is your take on the term BRAND?”

“A BRAND isn't something that you can be; it's something that you already are. Now granted, a person can be a walking brand right now, and not even realize it because they never nurtured or cultivated those qualities enough to bring them to the surface. But once you do brand yourself you'll find it was in you all along.”

You have to clearly know your brand by having it well defined, no generic shit. You should shape and carve it out to your personal liking. After you define it than claim it, and wear it proudly every day damn. I think that the Carolina market is simply that, "a market." You can come here and shop around and select this type of artist or that type. Maybe you want a dash of perspective or a sprinkle of gangsta so this market has a variety and allows you a wide selection.”

#MUSIC101, create a business plan and blueprint your “visual”. If you can write out your thoughts onto paper into a step by step format, you should easily be able to see a goal and start taking steps to accomplish it while stamping your mark down the path.

I then decided to ask one of my bosses and another mentor, Marketing Guru and Marketing Director with Stall & Dean and Rucker Apparel, Rikers, what common mistake does he see in branding within the Music Industry and what advice does he have. His response,

“The biggest problem is that the Artist (commonly) doesn't understand that "they are the brand". So they resist the task at hand destroying the whole process. My advice is to listen to the professionals... Don't allow broke people tell you how to be successful. There's a reason why they are broke... Pay attention.” (http://stallanddean.com Follow @stallanddean)

Branding seems easy but it will not and cannot happen in the snap of a finger or the twist of your hip. In fact, many often find ease in creating a visual icon and attracting large groups of people. The problem comes with consistency and the key fundamentals to keeping that same attraction.  If you get it correct from the very beginning you decrease your chances for failure and even the chance of juggling various solutions in time.
What other effects are predicted within the Carolina Industry? I’ll let Sha’Linda take the mic on this one,

“Make no mistake there is no Carolina Music Industry. Why?? Because there is no consistent production that can produce sales here. There are so many talented acts here, but the system that we surround ourselves with is no good. You may say that there is no real system here for an artist and that, my friend, is within itself- "a system." It's a system that is deprived and lacking. We pretend to ignore the fact that we as a whole unit are each responsible for the poorly structured entertainment business in our state. Yet it engulfs each of us as we cling to survive in this (so-called) movement.”

“The Carolina Entertainment Industry already has a "brand". That brand is "Coffin Music;" either the music is bad or it's good but will never make it to a substantial A&R and receive an advance. I see so many people wanting to further & push their own brand yet disguise this as being a part of the collective rat race to put Carolina on.”

Did you get what she just said? Carolina is full of so many people disguising their own brands as the “we gonna put on NC” brand. No one is really trying to put on NC or else we would see more unity within this state. You would be able to link up with another label or so-called “movement” and combine your projects together without someone thinking, “Ours is better. We don’t need their little project.” Anyone gotten angry at what I’ve said yet? #SENSITVE

Back to you Sha’Linda,
“Yes you can have an individual brand, but be compelled to tie it into something greater than self. There are few key leaders within the state that tirelessly do play their parts. I salute you, and have no problem admitting that you are my true role models. If you do not wake up each day and live making real substantial moves to advance your own musical careers that will also aid in the movement, I’m clearly not talking to you.”

Which brings me to someone else I decided to bring into the conversation tying in the main factor of having to LIVE YOUR BRAND. Publicist and Management for Glass Kandii Models, Kay Harris, has been branding her role as a Publicist and brought plenty of attention to the title. I share a common duty with the term and although our roles are often overlooked, publicists, PRs, press agents and media consultants are key components to successful branding. I asked Kay, "What is the most important advice you would give to someone wanting to start branding a name, company or tagline"?

Personally one of the things I think are most important is that personal branding is a lifestyle, not an adjective- you must have a set of values and organized principles.” (http://publicistkayharris.com)

Allow me to elaborate; your brand is your lifestyle. It represents you. You must treat it like you treat- your lifestyle. Your brand is like the name your parents gave you, for a loss of better examples. You can’t just put it out there to fend for itself. Like Sha’Linda said earlier, “If you do not wake up each day and live making real substantial moves to advance your own musical careers that will also aid in the movement, I’m clearly not talking to you.” We’re clearly not talking to you. Clearly. Totally not talking to you.

Here comes the Sarcasm (read at your own risk)

After some months of observation and researching on this subject, I’ve pinpointed 5 main factors that I personally recommend. You may not agree but this is my article and not yours.

-First, make sure you “deliver the message clearly”. Don’t confuse your consumers/audience. If you say you’re a rapper AND a business man, people should be able to conduct business with you and you should be able to distinguish yourself from your “rapper” image and your “business” image.

-Be able to “confirm your credibility”. I’ve written plenty of times about how you can’t just TAKE credit. Credit is given within any industry, even politics. If you take credit from something, be able to have some referrals with their own credibility to back up what you’re taking credit for. From your resume to your customers, your credit has to be the majority rule.

-Don’t just exposure the “brand” to your audience, “connect your targets emotionally”.  How do you think companies like Coca Cola and McDonalds succeeded all those years back against all the other competition? They didn’t just make an attractive, eye catching logo and a cool catch phrase, they established and built a relationship with their consumers. Relationships are built on emotion. A business relationship is like any another relationship in a human beings life and you have emotional attachments with them. You just have to learn to control and balance them.

-My favorite tip, be able to “motivate the consumer” or motivate your audience. Your brand feeds off the motivation you use to magnetize the consumer. Let them know “why”, “how”, and “what”. Your brand is at the top of the rope in gym class and you have to motivate your consumer to climb.

-Lastly, “concrete your users with loyalty”. Oh yea. I went there. You got to be loyal to your consumers, audience and clients. You have to be loyal to the people you do business with and remember business is personal but should never be taken personal. We all want our publicity and exposure but we have to also remember all publicity is NOT good publicity because our brands are linked to our business affiliates and consumers. If you’re brand is about Shampoo that strengthening long hair, don’t hire a woman with a low cut for your ads. You need a team and your team needs to be loyal and all on the same page. This is not high school, this is business.

"I think a lot of people misunderstand BRANDING from the stuff they read on the internet. If your angle is to make money through entertainmen,t you should be focused on building a good PRODUCT and then getting endorsements through people who really have BRANDS instead of pretending like YOU are a brand. Create a PRODUCT which you can BRAND. “–DJ Supreme Kiss 101.9 (New Bern Follow @djsupreme)

And now, my Christmas present to you: The Build Ya Brand Mixtape; Released in the end of September with a host of artists from across Carolina. Some known for having the leadership and motivation to build strong brands and some new, paving their way to brand their names and images. Hosted by DJ Dellmatic, Carolina Blew and co-hosted by Nikki Nicole.

"You shouldn't just invest in your brand because the internet allows you to do more stuff free. One must still invest in them self to prove that they are equal, if not better than the competition." -Travis Timmons, CEO/Founder of GotHaze.com

YOU MUST BE WILLING TO RISK EVERYTHING!!!!” –Carolina Blew http://carolinablew.blogspot.com Follow @carolinablew1)

"First thing is to be visible... people need to be able to see what you are doing! They need to see you out at shows, they need to see your music (mixtapes etc...), and they need to see how you present yourself along with the product you are pushing. You gotta be active and really stand behind what you are doing or nobody will notice you!" –Dj Dellmatic (Follow him @DJDellmatic)

"My Lover Told Me Too Many Lies"

His Strong hands gently caressing my thighs

Lay in his bed looking in his eyes

Feeling Tremendous Pleasure as he slowly enters inside

Draining all of my power so mesmerized

That night was magnificent take time to visualize

It all went away when I came to realize

My lover told me too may lies

Made me feel stupid not very wise

Nurse telling me three letters all capitalized

Doctors taking my blood which they now have to analyze

Sickness flowing through my veins like some kind of pesticide

Keep giving me medicine for my cells to stabilize

My friends never come around not even to socialize

He has taken everything I've been deprived

That man I hate do greatly despise

To take his life that I will authorize

Whatever he touch it soon dies

Will not stand at all no longer organized

I fell for his game, something he devised

My Soul now weeps do not patronize

My lover told me too many lies

Can't get out of bed at least I tried

Please listen while I try to advise

You look for this disease but it comes in disguise

Those who know me have begun to ostracize

Take heed of my sayings information otherwise

You too my friend will soon pulverize

Sitting with your family trying to rationalize

Like me a bed of sickness is where you'll reside

And he don't care has lost no pride

While I go day by day trying to survive

My sisters help me do their best to provide

Can't do anything soon became paralyzed

My mother helps me she's there to subsidize

My father stepped in the room he began to sympathize

As the months go by I loose Size after size

And hating that lover who told me too many lies

SHELLY B THAT NEXT TO BLOW ON YO! RAPS

Right at the very mid of the 4th Qtr Crunch Time Madness, it couldn't have been a better time for North Carolina's notorious female lyrical assassin Shelly B to makes headlines as "Next to Blow".

Of course I had to embark on featuring this accomplishment in an article because I keep her mixtape "Queen" on replay. NOT just because she's Shelly B and she kills every beat that drops, or because Wet Set productions is one of her Online Promo Teams, but also because this mixtape features some of my favorite beats from the late 90's into the early past decade. Speaking of the decade, as we approach 2011, we must remember this is the start of a new one and the start of the "Branding" trend. If you had to put a face to original female artist branding, it could mos def be Shelly B. She stands out and she sticks to originality and positive imaging within her marketing. Shelly B's track record speaks for itself and I cant even try to mention them all off the top of the head. I will mention she brought home the 2010 SMES Award for Best Female Artist and over the summer she hosted and lead a spectacular Hip Hop for the Homeless event in Raleigh, which should go down in history books. #imjussayin

Her lyrics are real. They're deep, grungy, have attitude and seem to jump off the beat and slap you in the face. If you meet Shellz tho, this is one sweet voiced Diva. Lol. Did I mention her shoe game is mean? You get nothing but the best of energies, positive and negative. She's always supportive of everyone she crosses paths with and even this sarcastic renegade cant find anything to criticize her about. I COULD, but then I don't want her to lyrically murder me, sooo lol i'm just kidding. Listen to the Mixtape, its like the lyrical "monster"comes out and shows up track after track. This is the other side to Shelly B the female emcee and entrepreneur. She IS Hip Hop and it cant get no realer.

WIZ KHALIFA'S G-VEGAS TREATMENT

I never do any features like this but i decided to feature Wiz in this site b/c he came to my city as a stop on his "Waken Baken" Tour.

Here's my breakdown, Wiz left his Warner Brother label to take the indie route in like Feb or March then sets up a tour and it ridiculously sells out (reported in June). So on Saturday evening i find out good ol' Weed Supported Wiz Khalifa is making a tour stop in Greenville, but its like a campus only feature (lol). So everyone outside of ECU gets the news last minute and tickets are already sold out at the Wright Auditorium. Someone forget to remind him that there was a reason his concert was "limited" to a campus audience only. ITS GREENVILLE, NC. They didn't even respect Petey when he was topping the damn Billboard charts here!

So my sources tell me dude gets locked up. Of gate, I'm laughing and start sarcastically joking on him. I mean. Dude. Didn't nobody tell you weed was illegal? Oh yea, you too high to think. lol. But here's my other problem. Everybody wanna say "FUCK GPD". I dont like them neither kuz half of them don't care bout their job. But this wasn't one of the situations where he was illegally searched or harassed by the police. He tweeted repeatedly and dropped videos repeatedly since he started the damn tour. HE GAVE THE COPS A MOTIVE TO ARREST HIM. Its no one fault but his own. SO no, no "Free Wiz". This wasn't like the Jada Kiss or Freakey Zeakey drug incidents where cops just had a good hunch or a tip, WIZ TELLS PEOPLE HE ALWAYS HAS WEED. So he knew he was gonna get arrested. Duh people. Its called marketing. lol. I bet when his album drop he's gonna love every arrest.

He goes on stage with his "Taylor Gang" and the audience could smell the "aroma" soon as they came out. Good weed smoke stays in your clothes... guess he be to high too remember that neither. Through my sarcastic ranting on FB (#WIZKHALIFAINPCDC) i meet a guy in Kansas who told me that he had been arrested before at one of these tour stops before he even made it to the stage. My question to Wiz is "what do you expect when u post videos of your habit"? Did y'all read his last tweet?

According to AllHipHop, Wiz' last tweet was around 4:30 PM (which misspelled my city name and put "Greensville" instead of "Greenville") "Smoke outs greenville, nc tonight. fall thru wit ur finest plant life."

Which tells me, all the Internet cops in Greenville were more focused on arresting this rapper for publicity instead of all the drug dealers who were prob waiting outside in the parking lot. Wiz Khalifa made alot of drug dealers in Greenville a lil more rich if i may add. Greenville hates rappers, they hate clubs and they hate parties and concerts. Why do you think they were so happy when Club Dynasty finally closed down? (RIP Shawn Mack) Why you think there is NO big urban nightlife in Greenville? I'm surprised the City Commission didn't try to cancel the tour stop!

I was told his show was ended after 45 minutes and that soon as he walked out the PCDC Goons GOT HIM! lol Want proof???

THATS WIZ IN THE KHAKI'S!! (the red arrows should be easy to figure out lol)

Now the funniest thing about all of this is this is how NC gets represented. First we are notarized on WorldStar for a random chick fight after a concert, then Petey Pablo "forgets" he has a gun and extra clips in his suitcase and now Wiz forgets he's in the south- not only that, but in a state where our ABC stores are the liquor stores!! That should tell you what kind of area you're in. Lol

No, I'm not gonna say Free Wiz. Matter fact, keep his ass in there so he can network with all the rappers in there then I can get some promotion. #FUCKIT I don't smoke weed. I'm an alcoholic. I bet if he was an alcoholic he'd still be on stage til 3am! He can smoke his $10,000 weed. I hope he had some money leftover to bail his ass out. The court system don't play here in Greenville.

Irma stop being sarcastic. Really, i feel sorry for him.... KUZ I KNOW HE PROB DIDN'T EVEN TRY TO HIDE HIS WEED!! It was right on the table when they walked on the bus. I bet all the Wiz Khalifa groupies are pissed off. They was gon be happy to get that good weed. They should be thankful tho! If they had smoked that high grade, when he left they wouldn't been switching to crack because the weed around here ain't shit- not that I know anything about it...

HERE'S SOME AMATEUR FOOTAGE OF HIS ARREST TOO...

#wizkhalifainpcdc happy because he does everything he do for the negative publicity. In some cases, the negative publicity works. This incident gets so bad that he closes his Twitter Acct early like 2-3am. Hope its not "too much" for him and his team. He technically asked for it. This a dude from PA who came to the south. Basically sets himself up for it. He already has mad tattoos & left his last label. He ain't got no other choice but to rap. So he better rap and be good at it and make these headlines lol, because he cant get a regular job with all those tattoos.

In the meanwhile, thank you Wiz for adding on to NC's negativity. "Hey Mom, I gonna make it! First Petey, now Wiz! Greenville Rocks". smdh. And now we're on WorldStarHipHop... #kanyeshrug

NC G.O.O.D MUSIC Introduction

Prelude...
Five years ago, the NC Coastal region was merely “Rural NC”. Five years ago, if I told someone I was located in Washington, they thought I was meant D.C. Then, when I said that was located 20 minutes from Greenville, they thought I meant in SC. I was then stuck explaining either that it was an hour and 30 minutes from Raleigh or had to say “the city Petey Pablo was from”. No, I’m not lying. Five years ago, the most known cities on the inner banks were Rocky Mount, Goldsboro, Wilson, Greenville, and Wilmington. Rocky Mount was known for having the best mall, the Amtrak Station, the best Jamaican food spot and where not to hang out after the club. Goldsboro, was known for, well, just not to hang out at anytime at night. Wilson and Greenville was known as the party spots and Wilmington had the best beach and most cultured nightlife. Five years ago, the inner & outer banks were only known for “where not to go during Hurricane Season”. Five years ago, I was just an ENC Rep for numerous companies and labels and managed a local group of 8 stubborn artists (RIP T-Dash). Now, the heart of Eastern NC seems to be bringing more positive energy, every quarter, to the unsteady NC Music Scene and I’m proud to be a part of it.

No Sarcasm here, simply thoughts...
Combined with the love and inspiration for artist, Kanye West, and the respect and motivation from teammate and client, Derty Den, there was no way I could resist publicizing and acting upon an idea that sparked in my sarcastic mind after reading a posted comment that stated, “We pullin’ a page out of the G.O.O.D music play book! Big remixes Carolina style… pow!” from Derty Den’s Facebook profile. The idea of unity. The idea of actually participating in everything I’ve worked hard to see happen in this state is appalling. It’s fucking ridiculous. But it’s happening. It’s not going to completely unite the whole state but why can’t we try to start it again? For nearly 7 years my main task each day has been to network and work my way to world domination and marketing greatness. Anybody I’ve worked with will tell you that I connected with them through an email, worked with them, earn my key and open doors to more work. It all started before Facebook with Yahoo Groups. It all started with footwork as a street team member for Rocafella and a rep for Nitram Knarf & Affishaul Ent. My work is G.O.O.D and I deserve to work with G.O.O.D music and help put this Underground Scene in a positive G.O.O.D position. Every little bit counts. I’m just one ant in this ant pile and it takes a colony to survive the winter.

This article is not to rant about Derty Den’s accomplishments or for me to talk you to death about how much I love Kanye West’s music. That’s what you may have thought, but I’m always one step ahead of what you think. What you think, I’ve already forgot like, last week. I’m actually here to inform much of North Carolina who are overlooking the teamwork of Eastern North Carolina. Never before have I ever seen or heard of so many collaborations of artists, in the NC Underground scene, than I have this past year. Now, mind you, I am just 24. So before you go shouting at your computer beginning to hate me because I forgot a big collaboration back in 2003 or something, please, kill the negativity. I’m simply focusing on the NOW and the progression I’ve witnessed and been a part of within this market the past 3-4 years.

#MUSICTIP101: Leave the past in the past.

In the beginning...
In my opinion, it all started coming together after the “Everybody Workin” single collaboration, produced and mixed at Main Event Studios in Rocky Mount, NC. I like to think of Rocky Mount as the esophagus of ENC. The voice of the music scene in ENC. This track featured 9 artists from all over NC; Derty Den, Marc Law, Forward Progress, Ozone, Mica Swain, Shelly B, Ike & Shyst and Hugg E Bear. It had legend duo group Ike & Shyst on it! They killed it. The track started off causing your face to frown with the bars of Forward Progress and Marc Law, to the grungy, hard lyrics of Derty Den then to the most quoted and noticeable words of Ozone. The hook sends chills down your spine from the soulful voice of Hugg E Bear with along the hardest, tough lyrics from the sweet voice of Mica Swain and I can NOT forget my favorite verse by Shelly B who killed it at full speed with so much attitude and heart, almost made me want to knock a mutha- well, you get what I mean. It became an epidemic. Took over the 2010 CM Awards in Raleigh and spread into 2010 SMES Awards in Myrtle Beach. The teamwork behind the artists, producers, promoters and writers has brought the streets T-shirts and even panties. It’s on the radio stations and it all over the Internet. Everyone really is working and we’re working together.

It didn’t stop there, which brings me to the purpose of this article. “This press right here! This press right here (Kat Williams voice)!” Marks the beginning of NC G.O.O.D Music through the rebirth of exclusive remixes. Not only as a Black Cak Professional do I vow to reach out and connect and help artist grinding in NC, but I vow to honor the code of the Black Cak motto, “Each one, teach one”. Team work is loyalty and respect and team work take maturity. The ENC’s, and what many journalists have called the Boss of NC, most influential and most watched artist is taking his songs and asking fellow artists to collaborate and produce hits. You’ll consistently see drop after drop of tracks featuring some of NC’s best of the best, old and new. It’s not a Derty Den thing, it’s not a Black Cak thing, and it’s not a Wet Set thing. It’s a Carolina thing and we hope we can involve everybody wanting to be involved. NC has no excuse not to be on the “on the map”. Stop scheming to obliterate somebody’s accomplishments and instead, scheme on making your own accomplishments through your own honest work.

Following this article starts the publicity of teamwork through collaborations. First up to plate, the "I See Paper" single off of the Derty Den Tony Soprano Mixtape. Which was premiered and featured on AllHipHop.com just a few weeks back. Now, a remix has been set in place and we present to you G.O.O.D MUSIC: CAROLINA EDITION.

Everybody workin! #TEAMNC “Each one, teach one.”

F***ING RIDICULOUS HAMMER ACTIONS

MC HAMMER'S USE OF PUBLICITY IN 2001

I guess Hammer thought "hey, not only can i try to make a comeback and try to get endorsements and be famous again, but it'll look good b/c I'm supporting my country".

WRONG. The fast lyrics, the beat, the damn fur coat DID NOT make me feel good nor uplifted me during those troubled times. As i watched friends get drafted and shipped off overseas, there was no way in hell that hearing Hammer rap about America in a fur coat (which promotes the killing of harmless polar bears) made me appreciate my country more than already being a Navy Brat. It was a waste of money and I feel sorry for anyone who had their names tied to it.

Now THIS video made me wanna scream "U.S.A!!!"

America. Fuck Yea. Hammer. Sit your ass down. C'mon son.

Obviously, it wasn't over and it wasn't his last risk at stardom again. He does make show appearance and other shit but we don't care about none of that.

Now let me state, Hammer was THE SHIT back in the day. I remember when "Cant Touch This" came out. 1990 and my fam was living in La Maddelena, Italy (small town on the island of Sardina Italy off the coast near Corsica). All I listened to was Bob Marley and Third World and dabs of Madonna and Luther Vandross. So from what i remember that's the closest i got to rap music at age 4 other than Positive K lol. Being in another country i had like few friends so to keep active, MC Hammer and Black Box kept me active in the house. So, shit 2 decades ago Hammer was the man.

Now the message from this article is that ALL PUBLICITY IS NOT GOOD PUBLICITY.

WATCH WHAT YOUR NAMED IS TIED TO PEOPLE. ESPECIALLY ARTISTS!!! Lol.

So below is the song that made Hammer hype AGAIN and got him to even make an appearance on the 2010 BET Hip Hop Awards. SMH.

As you hear, it wasn't too much publicity for Hammer but Rozay portrayed Hammer as a Dreamer (which is true) but now things have gotten way out of hand.

Next event of "Hammer Actions" are entirely fucking ridiculous. Kanye releases a song titled "So Appalled" featuring RZA, Jay Z, Pusha T, Swizz Beats and Cyhi the Prynce. Jay usually picks his battles very carefully and as a Jay fan, I must say that Jay obviously didn't think that Hammer would've taken the bar to heart- he wasn't the first rapper to diss Hammer or sarcastically make fun off his bankruptcy. Jay states, "Hammer went broke so you know I'm more focused /I lost 30 mil' so I spent another 30/ 'Cause unlike Hammer 30 million can't hurt me". It does seem out of character for Jay at this level in his career but that's the Jay we grew to love. That's a real Jay bar right there. The so IS called "So Appalled"and the hook is "Fuckin ridiculous"... Jay did is job. Now here comes Hammer trying to get it in again. its been 2 decades Hammer. I'm almost 25 now!! Stop trying to come back!!! lol

Here's an excerpt from Rolling Stones website with some quotes from and Interview with Jay Z following the Hammer video diss to Jay;

"In an interview with BBC's DJ Semtex this week, Jay said he didn't mean the verses as a personal attack.

"I didn't know that [Hammer's financial status] wasn't on the table for discussion!" he said (he laughs or sounds like he's smiling throughout nearly the entire interview). "I didn't know I was the first person ever to say that — I'm not, am I?"

He continued a bit more seriously, "When I say things, I think people believe me so much that they take it a different way — it's, like, not rap anymore at that point."

Here's the song the made Hammer so upset:

Now, yea, maybe it did hit a soft spot but Hammer is a grown ass man and that he has to realize his time was 2 decades ago. Now he's accusing Jay of worshiping the devil and visually challenging Jay to get baptized. Last time i heard, those who are quick to condemn are sinning themselves. All sin is equal sin people. SMDH.

So here's the Hammer diss video. Oh yea, its King Hammer now. Let me give the definition of "King" first and lets see if Hammer fits the description.

(a) a male monarch of a major territorial unit; especially : one whose position is hereditary and who rules for life (b) a paramount chief

Now, obvious Hammer is still alive, he's not a monarch or head of any MAJOR territorial unit or company, he's not an ancestor of a any Kings and he obviously has not ruled for life. Kings don't go bankrupt. Period.

Please understand this is just as bad as Antoine Dodson's record deal. What is our culture coming too. We're too busy pointing fingers and trying to take someone at a high position. Its not just NC, its America.

Fuck your feelings, build ya brand. Wet Set!

xoxo
