Former Cash Money Records rapper Turk is officially a free man, after serving almost 9 years in prison for weapons charges. He was released from the Forrest City, Arkansas Federal Prison this morning (October 12). Turk was the fourth member of The Hot Boys on Cash Money Records, from 1996 – 2001 along with Lil Wayne, Juvenile and BG.
In 2004, Turk was involved in a
shoot-out with members of the Memphis, Tennessee S.W.A.T. during a raid. Two officers were injured during the shootout. He avoided attempted murder charges but was hit with gun charges that resulted in Turk’s conviction and subsequent sentencing
to almost ten-years in prison.
Now a free man, Turk will be working on new music, in addition
to a book about his life titled “The AutoThugography of Turk" and a screenplay about his life title “Reckless.”
