**NEWS** @BeanieSigelSP was arrested Wednesday AM (8/29) almost TWO WEEKS before he is to report to prison for 2 years!!!

Early Wednesday morning Pennsylvania state police arrested rapper Beanie Sigel and a friend on gun and drug charges following a traffic stop on I-95 in Tinicum Township, according to an ABC news affiliate. Around 3:14 a.m., troopers pulled over a Ford Fusion driven by Gerald Andrews for following another car too closely and swerving out of his lane. beanie Sigel was the only passenger in the car.In a search of the vehicle, troopers found numerous prescription bottles, several pills wrapped in plastic bags in a cigarette pack and a small amount of marijuana on Gerald Andrews.

Police say they also found a bottle of codeine syrup with the label scratched off and $4,650 in cash on Beans. They also found a gun in the center counsel.Beanie Sigel and Gerald Andrews are convicted felons and are not allowed to possess firearms.

Beans' new album "This Time" just released on Tuesday. It is his first album on the now resurrected Ruffhouse Records label. Unfortunately,the arrest comes two weeks before he is to report to federal prison to serve two years for failure to pay about $348,000 worth of taxes on $1 million of income from 2003 to 2005. He was scheduled to report to begin serving his time on Sept. 12. Hopefully, Beans will come away from this with a new outlook and deeper passion for life and freedom. Hold ya head Mac!!!

Beanie Sigel is the personification of Philadelphia street life. He is big, black, rough and full of success and misfortune. They don’t come any more hardcore than Beans. The scuffles, the beefs, the run ins with the law, the assaults have all been a part of Beans’ career just as much as his outstanding catalog of recording. Most notably in all this, the Philly MC spent 10 months in prison for federal weapons charges and beat an attempted murder charge afterwards.

However during his run with Roc-A-Fella Records, Beanie (real name Dwight Grant) didn’t properly file taxes with Uncle Sam. He owed the government over $700K. Yesterday, (July 12) he was sentenced to 2 years in federal prison for failing to pay his taxes.

Following that bad news, beanie Sigel fans received a small glint of good news. Ruffhouse Records, a defunct 90s record label, plans to relaunch back into the music industry by releasing the next Beanie Sigel album. The record label famous for breaking Cypress Hill and The Fugees will release Beans’ next album entitled This Time. It is unclear how Sigel’s legal woes will factor into the albums promotion and release but, at least the fans get some music from Beans.
